Dermatology

Our Dermatology Service manages a broad range of dermatological conditions.

The Dermatology Minor Surgery Clinic specialises in minor surgical procedures for various skin conditions, performed in a safe and sterile environment.

All surgeries are carried out under local anaesthetic by specially trained GPs, with support from an Health Care Assistant.

Our service includes the following treatment:

Curettage and Cautery: Lesions are scraped off the skin, and the area is cauterised to stop bleeding. No sutures are needed.

Shave Excision: Raised lesions are shaved off, followed by cauterisation, with no stitches required.

Punch Biopsy: A small circular blade removes a skin sample for diagnosis. Bleeding is controlled by cauterisation, and sometimes stitches are needed.

Excision with Primary Closure: Lesions are removed with a margin of surrounding skin, with stitches applied in layers for wound closure.

The clinic operates on Tuesdays and Fridays at Marvels Lane Clinic.
